Vacation

An employee's original or most recent date of full-time employment with Enterprise will be used to determine vacation, which is calculated on the employee's anniversary each year and paid based on the average workday. All employees, including those on a contingent compensation plan, will be paid vacation at base rate only unless otherwise required by state law. Vacation, which is to be requested in writing at least five days in advance, requires a Manager's approval and is to be taken in one-half or full-day increments.

  • With the exception of certain states where paying accrued vacation is required by law, employees who terminate prior to completing one year of service will not receive any vacation pay at termination.
  • Should employment terminate after one full year of service, all unused and earned (and in some states, accrued) vacation will be paid. Employees on contingent compensation plans are paid vacation due at termination at base pay (not base pay plus commission and/or profit-based bonus unless required by state law).
  • Any combination of vacation and ChoiceTime days, up to a maximum of five days, may be carried forward by active employees to be used in the next year. This time should be requested in writing five days prior to the employee's anniversary date and approved by his or her manager. Unless otherwise requested in writing, ChoiceTime days will carry over before any vacation days.
  • All vacation time must be used. Active employees will not be reimbursed for unused vacation.
  • If an employee's need for time off exceeds his or her earned vacation and ChoiceTime days, an unpaid leave may be granted with the approval of a Corporate Officer or Group General Manager, as appropriate.

Vacation And ChoiceTime For Car Sales Sales Personnel

ChoiceTime and vacation pay for eligible Car Sales sales personnel will normally be calculated based on actual prior earnings. For example, one week of ChoiceTime or vacation will be equal to 1/52 of the employee's most recent 12 full calendar months' income. The monetary value of one week's ChoiceTime or vacation should be rounded to the nearest full dollar. Upon termination, Car Sales Sales Personnel will be paid vacation due at base pay only.
