Arrival Day

  • Call family members and friends to let them know you have arrived safely. Check in with your employer and real estate agent and confirm itineraries.
  • Again, be available to answer any questions.
  • Check that everything on your inventory is accounted for and in proper condition.
  • Check belongings carefully and note on the inventory paperwork any damaged items.
  • To prevent damage, television sets, other electronic equipment and major appliances should not be used for 24 hours after delivery, so they can adjust to room temperature.
  • Supervise unloading and unpacking.
  • Let the children start setting up their rooms. Set up the kitchen and kids' rooms first, as it helps them feel at home.
  • Do not sign for services until they are performed. If problems arise, call the transportation office.
  • Do not replace or repair damaged goods before you file your claim and consult with the claims office!
