Time Off Questions and Answers

Can ChoiceTime for full-time employees be carried over from one year to the next?
Any combination of ChoiceTime or vacation, up to a maximum of 5 days, can be carried forward to the next anniversary year. All other vacation or ChoiceTime must be used prior to each employee's next anniversary date or it is lost.

What are the requirements for using a ChoiceTime day for full-time employees?
You are required to request your ChoiceTime day 5 working days in advance. Of course, if you are using a ChoiceTime day for illness, that may not be possible.

Do new full-time employees need to complete their 90-day probationary period before using any ChoiceTime?
No. Newly hired employees begin earning ChoiceTime days immediately. ChoiceTime days are earned at the end of each full calendar month worked up to a maximum of 7 days in the first year. ChoiceTime days can be used as they are earned with manager approval and at least 5 days notice.

Is ChoiceTime available to part-time employees?
Yes. Eligible part-time employees can begin earning ChoiceTime after one year of continuous service. However, there are specific rules for earning and using ChoiceTime that apply to part-time employees. Please refer to your local HR department for details on how ChoiceTime applies to part-time employees.

What happens if I have to work one of our paid holidays?
This should not happen very often, but when it does, we try to do it on a voluntary basis. If you do work, your manager will message the payroll department and you will be credited with an extra day off that you can take at a later time.

What paid holidays do Enterprise (U.S.) employees receive?
Several holidays are recognized by all U.S. Enterprise offices throughout the country. These are New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. Additional or substitute holidays may be recognized by the groups based on regional considerations. If a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it will be observed on a Friday or Monday.

What is the Enterprise leave policy for bereavement? How many days are allowed for funeral and grieving time?
Bereavement leave is granted to all full-time and part-time employees. Up to three consecutive working days off with pay based on hours worked in a normal workday. Up to two additional working days off with pay may be granted for long distance travel, if required. Please refer to the Time Off section of your employee handbook for more details.
